FOOTBALL NEWS - This weekend sees match day 9 out of 38 taking place in the English Premier League.
Liverpool is leading the charge at the moment with 24 points, putting them on the top of the log.
Last year’s league winners Manchester City is currently sitting in second place with 16 points. Liverpool has played and won all five of their last matches.
In their last match on Saturday the Reds won the game 2-1 against Leicester City. Liverpool will take on the Red Devils this weekend on Saturday at Old Trafford. Liverpool who won the Uefa Champions League this year is currently second in the Group E in the championship’s Group Stage. Liverpool has played two matches, losing one against Napoli and beating Red Bull 4-3 in their last encounter. Their next championship match is against Denk in Match day 3 of 6.

Kaizer Chiefs is at this particular moment sitting at the top of the log with 19 points with 8 matches played so far in the tournament. They are being chased by Bidvest Wits who has 15 points but has only 6 games.
Both teams have won four of their last five encounters. Mamelodi Sundowns, Polokwane City, Highlands Park and SuperSport United are not trailing too far from the top with only a few points separating the top teams. This weekend saw giants SuperSport United take on Highlands Park in the final of the MTN 8 at Orlando Stadium. Supersport United won the game 1-0 and walked away with the cup for the second time in 3 seasons.
