GRAAFF-REINET SCHOOLS CRICKET NEWS - On Wednesday afternoon, 16 January, Union Prep School’s U.11A cricket team started their season off with a 20 over match against their counterparts at Laer Volkskool.
In blistering heat, Union’s team sent their opponents in to bat first and made light work of their top order, bowling them out for 48 runs.
When it was their turn, the Union batsmen started slowly, but managed to chase down the target in 13 overs with 3 wickets down, ultimately winning by 7 wickets.

Union’s U.13As also played a 20 over match against Volkskool on Wednesday afternoon.
The Union team was sent in to bat first and got off to a great start, unfortunately they soon started losing wickets due to a lack of patience and experience ending their innings on 91 after 20 overs.
Union’s opening bowlers put Volkskool under pressure and were soon rewarded with early wickets.
They struggled to keep the momentum up, allowing Volkskool to reach 60 runs all out.
Union won the match by 32 runs.

Union Prep School’s U.9 cricketers played a mini-cricket match against Laer Volkskool on Tuesday afternoon, 15 January. UPS won by 11 runs.
