GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Saturday saw 57 participants take part in the challenging Graaff-Reinet parkrun. Sixteen runners, joggers or walkers were first-timers, and 10 were able to record new personal bests. Representatives of four different clubs took part.
First-timer and MTN Athletics Club member Klaas Prinsloo was first with an astounding 25:27. Short on his trail was fellow first-timer, and Somerset East AC runner, Janré Fourie with 26:05.
Callista Prinsloo, also a first-timer, was third overall and first of the women with 29:43. Melissa Broodryk, a first-timer and MTN Athletics Club member, was second with 31:08. Lou-Anne Gerber was third with 32:54; a new personal best for the runner.
The event was made possible by volunteers Mike Calitz, Kim Spencer Primic, Alta Bouwer, Lusan Luscombe, Peter Burdett, Danie Jackson, Claire Brodie, Shirley Spencer, Charles Maasdorp, and Dennis Marais and Andile Nofemele from Camdeboo National Park.
