GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The Interschools weekend saw 78 people run, jog or walk the Mountain Drive parkrun in Graaff-Reinet on Saturday.
Twenty-six of these participants were first-timers at the event, with visitors from the USA, Colesberg, Johannesburg, Port-Elizabeth, Cape Town and Langebaan.
Four runners managed to record new personal bests.
Flippie Loock was first in the men’s category, with his time of 22:44. First-timer Hester Fourie was first of the women, and crossed the finish line at 29:27.
The event was made possible by volunteers Peter Burdett, Mike Calitz, Shirley Spencer, Raymond van Staden, Marna Gerber, Jacqui Taylor-Freeme, Lusan Luscombe, Charles Maasdorp, Johan du Plessis, and Peter and Kim Spencer Primic.
They thanked Mixie Goedhals for the lovely rusks she gave them.
