KAROO NEWS - To have a framed snapshot of yourself in front of the magnificent piled dolerite columns of the Valley of Desolation, standing like sentries against the plains of the Great Karoo, is epic.
The frame is painted bright yellow, which initially sparked an outcry among some residents, who felt the colour green would have been a better reflection of the town and its rich history.
Tourists visiting Graaff-Reinet will love this new initiative set up in its gorgeous location where they can photograph themselves in the well-known but unusual landscape with the “Cathedral of the Mountains” as backdrop.
