KAROO NEWS - The Dr Beyers Naudé Municipality finished with the installation of the 90kw pump at Nqweba Dam today at 17:00.
Another pump was installed, while the other pump that was removed must be refurbished.
While the pump was out of operation, boreholes still continued to pump water to the reservoirs. Unfortunately, load shedding affected the water supply and low reservoir levels as well as no water in some reservoirs led to shortages of supply.
The situation will improve while water is being pumped from the Nqweba Dam as well as the boreholes. The Municipality would like to thank the community for their cooperation and patience.
