GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Two people have tested negative for coronavirus in Graaff-Reinet, Eastern Cape Health Department Spokesperson Siyanda Manana confirmed to the Graaff-Reinet Advertiser this evening (18 March).
The Advertiser reported earlier this week that, according to Manana, a local man and his sister recently travelled to Germany, and were tested at Midland Hospital as a precautionary measure.
The patients did not exhibit any symptoms at the time, and were just tested as a precautionary measure.
According to Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane, Premier of the Eastern Cape Province, there are currently no patients who tested positive for the virus in the Eastern Cape.
The public is advised to call the coronavirus hotline on 0800 029 999 with any suspected cases of corona, or to report or obtain information relevant to the pandemic. People can also phone their doctor or a clinic should they be concerned about flu-like symptoms.
The main Covid19 symptoms are a fever, coughing and shortness of breath.
