GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - A successful week for Graaff-Reinet SAPS saw 35 arrests for serious crime, with a further 14 for minor offences.
In violent crimes, two suspects were arrested for attempted murder, one each for rape and attempted rape, six for assault (including one GBH), and four for robbery with a weapon other than a firearm.
For drug-related offences, there were two arrests for possession of tik, and three for possession of dagga.
One motorist was arrested for drunken driving, and in the minor crimes, five were arrested for being drunk and disorderly, and six for drinking in public.
Six suspects were caught for housebreaking and theft, three for theft, four for shoplifting, and one for possession of stolen property. There was also one arrest for stock theft.
There were three arrests for contravening a "No person shall engage in gambling" regulation.
This week's confiscations include tik, tik pipes, dagga, cash, knives, garden tools, iron bars, tools, and airtime vouchers.
There were no convictions secured in court during this period.
