GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The date for the annual Autumn Bazaar at St James’ Anglican Church is fast approaching, and organiser Felicity Minnaar and her team are hard at work with the arrangements for this year’s festivities.
The bazaar, which will be held in the church hall on Friday 31 May, will provide all the usual tried-and-tested favourites. The white elephant stall is sure to be busy with eagle-eyed customers looking for bargains, and as always, the second-hand books will be a draw-card for readers. Some intricate needlework is expected, with lots of winter woollies.
As always, food is a big part of the attraction, and here, the members of the church excel. There will be farm meat, home baked cakes, pancakes and the perennial favourite, bazaar puddings.
A tea garden and plant sales will be set up in the church grounds, and a tasty lunch will be served from 12:00. Tickets for this always sell out fast.
This year, the doors open at 10:00, a little earlier than last year, and those looking for the best bargains and tastiest cuts of meat are advised to arrive in good time.
