GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Nuno Morais and Morne Swart of the #ShutSADown movement will arrive in Graaff-Reinet today (10 August) as part of their mission to demand a safer South Africa.
They will arrive in town between 15:00 and 15:30 and ask that supporters wait for them at the NG Church on Church Street.
Early July, the two men set out to travel from Johannesburg to Cape Town, where they plan to deliver a list of demands and solutions to Parliament.
“We demand change because we cannot allow another 178,302 people to get murdered during the next ten years. And we can't allow another 567,720 woman to be sexually assaulted either,” Swart wrote on the #ShutSADown Facebook page.
He is travelling in a car, wrapped with the names of murdered children and women, while Morais runs the distance.
#ShutSADown was founded in February this year and has over 200 000 members. According to Swart, the group has only one focus: to unify South Africans.
