GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - A Johannesburg based veterinarian, Dr Desmond Stafford, and his wife Suzie Cato, drove to Graaff-Reinet for the project, which took place on 15 November in cooperation with the Graaff-Reinet SPCA.
According to CSI founder, Erma Voigt, 27 dogs and four cats were sterilised. The team was assisted by Jean Pieterse, Animal Health Officer for the SPCA. Voigt said financial donations made it possible to host two Spayathons in 2019.
"Our target is one Spayathon a year, but if the money is available, we are glad to sponsor two."
Cato told the Advertiser that the work done by the CSI and Graaff-Reinet SPCA is of the best she has seen in South-Africa. She encouraged the community to make this coming Christmas a special one for the pets in need by donating food, toys and other necessities to CSI or the SPCA.
