KAROO NEWS - This morning, 2 October, residents of Thembalesizwe in Aberdeen woke up to the news of yet another senseless loss of life. Last night, at around 22:40, the Aberdeen SAPS responded to a call about an assault at a property in Vanda Street.
Captain McCarthy, the district communicator of the Sarah Baartman district, says when the police arrived at the house in question, the body of a 21-year-old woman was found in front of the home.
“According to the police report the deceased and a 23-year-old female suspect, believed to be her girlfriend, was fighting when the suspect stabbed the deceased with a knife,” McCarthy says.
The suspect was still on the scene when the police arrived and she was arrested. The woman is due to appear in court at the Aberdeen Magistrate’s court on Thursday 3 October on a charge of murder. The police has not yet released the identity of the deceased or the suspect.
