GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Karoo Catch, a freshwater fish-farming and processing initiative in Graaff-Reinet, recently launched a community outreach initiative aimed at reaching out to the less fortunate in the community.
Through this initiative, many local organisations, which include churches, orphanages, day care centres, soup kitchens, the local hospice and homes for the aged were the recipients of fish wors and braai wors.
According to Trudi Bezuidenhout, Karoo Catch sales and marketing manager, the response from these organisations were phenomenal. “It was very heart-warming for us to help so many people in need,” said Bezuidenhout.
Karoo Catch has also recently announced that they will soon be launching a new children’s range, namely Kidz Fish Wors and Kidz Fish Burgers - the Kidz Fish Wors is a pork and lemon flavoured sausage and the Kidz Fish Burgers are beef flavoured.
Karoo Catch is currently constructing a factory that will create even more employment and empowerment opportunities for the local community. The new factory will also make it possible for Karoo Catch to supply their products nationally.
The Parsonage Street Home for the Aged in Graaff-Reinet were one of the recipients of a large donation recently made by Karoo Catch. The management of this home would like to express their immense gratitude for this generous donation.
