KROONVALE NEWS - A criminal case has been opened after a dog was found stabbed to death on Aster Street in Kroonvale on 25 May.
According to Hillary Chaplin, Graaff-Reinet SPCA Inspector, an autopsy confirmed that the dog died as a result of the stabbing.
The Graaff-Reinet SPCA asked locals to think of the organisation during lockdown, and to put the SPCA on their donation list.
“The SPCA employees have been working non-stop throughout the lockdown period,” their statement read.
“Many animals were surrendered to the SPCA because their owners lost their jobs or are earning less and cannot afford to feed them.”
The dog was found with fatal stab wounds.
