GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The swift action by Graaff-Reinet's fire services, traffic services and SAPS prevented a house on Vink Street, Koebergville, from burning down on 17 June.
The fire started in one of the rooms.
Homeowner Daphne Koopman was at work during the incident and said her two children, aged 10 and 13, where home. Their 15-year-old friend was visiting.
Neighbours saw smoke coming from the inside of the house and called the fire brigade. Together with traffic officials and the police, they were on the scene within minutes. Only the inside of the house was damaged.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
Graaff-Reinet Police Spokesperson, Captain Bradley Rawlinson, said the police did not open a docket for investigation.
