GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - On Thursday 17 November the Sarah Baartman District Office launched the Dr Beyers Naudé Community Safety Forum at the Alex Laign Hall in Kroonvale, Graaff-Reinet.
Under the leadership of the District Manager of Community Safety Mncedisi Boma, the safety forum covers the Sarah Baartman municipal area and will follow a multi-disciplinary approach in the prevention and combating of crime. It is supported by Saps, the community police forum (CPF), the various neighbourhood watch groups, the business chamber and the municipality.
Boma said the launch of the forum was of utmost importance to the communities of Graaff-Reinet. He said the problems of alcohol and drug abuse can be addressed through the involvement of the CPF and with the assistance of the community.
