Distemper outbreak wreaks havoc in Hofmeyr
Sick dogs were euthanised but many dog owners did not want to give permission.

HOFMEYR NEWS - An outbreak of canine distemper is sweeping across Hofmeyr and surrounds, killing hundreds of dogs. 

Local animal lover, LIn Opperman, says it's imperative that the remaining dogs are inoculated, and is urging people to help pay for the inoculations of dogs from poor households as the owners cannot afford the cost of R50 per dog.
