GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - It’s that time of year again!
The annual National Hollard Daredevil Run/Walk that promotes early detection and prevention of prostate cancer, is taking place on Friday 23 October.
The Hollard Daredevil Run - hosted by many towns and cities across South Africa - has been going strong for 17 years and shows no signs of putting its trousers back on.
Chris Sounes of Plettenberg Bay will once again be coordinating a bulk order of Speedos for Plettenberg Bay and all the guys in the Garden Route who take part in the Plett leg of the run, making things easier and avoiding any courier chaos.
"Please spread the word and invite your friends, family, work colleagues and scholars to join us. It’s a great event, lots of fun and most importantly, all in support of a very worthy cause," says Sounes.
Entry is R200, which includes your Speedo.
Event coordinator, Chris Sounes (front 4th from left), invites men of all ages from the Garden Route to take part in the 2026 Hollard Daredevil Run/Walk in Plettenberg Bay on 23 October.
To be part of the Hollard Daredevil Run/Walk in Plett, send the following details to [email protected]:

Lekker balls, Lekker life
This year the tagline of the Daredevil Run is Lekker balls, Lekker life and Sounes is hoping to once again organise PSA tests at a competitive price.
"I’ll confirm the details as soon as they’re finalised. We’re planning to use the same route and finish as last year, with boerie rolls, cold beer and other refreshments available afterwards at the Surf Life Savers Club at Central Beech.
"Let’s get another great group together in Plett this year!"
The Hollard Daredevils always make time for a cold one - during and afterwards!
The participants, dressed in only purple Speedos, will start their leisurely run/walk at the The Insurance & Investment Shop located at Shop 13, Ground Floor, Upper Deck Building, corner of Marine Drive and Main Road in the Plettenberg Bay CBD and finish at Central Beach.
You can also contact Sounes on 082 453 2459.
Fun in the sun! The easy Plett race is downhill all the way to Central Beach where the iconic Beacon Isle Hotel and other beach restaurants and bars awaits.
