GRAAFF REINET NEWS - Saturday morning at 07:00, 37 early risers experienced beautiful weather at the 128th parkrun.
Jarrod Gerber came first with a time of 23:20:59. (He won 15 times in 55 parkruns). His sister, Jamie-lee Gerber, came first with a time of 30:10:75. (She won 10 times in 50 parkruns.)
The volunteers at the parkrun encourage all to come and experience the parkrun and bring along friends and family, whether you are a runner or walker. There is a myth out there that you would get in the runners' way or be too slow. No one comes last at the parkrun.
"The parkrun concept has always been open to walkers and they take up the majority of participants at the Mountain Drive parkrun. The parkrun was rebranded parkwalk during October to celebrate existing walkers and encourage more walkers to join the event," said volunteer Dave Neill.
