CRADOCK NEWS - Bernard Coetzer has recently been elected as the chairperson of Cradock Round Table 37 for 2026.
Coetzer is originally from Pretoria, but moved to the Karoo in December 2021, where he was introduced to Round Table.
He was immediately attracted by the strong bond between the Round Tablers and was officially inducted into the organisation in January 2025.
Coetzer regards the winter soup kitchen event for the less fortunate in the communities of Cradock as one of his highlights during his short but effective membership of Cradock Round Table, and looks forward to many more such events where he, together with Cradock Round Table 37, can act to benefit his community.
In his new role as chairperson, his goal for this upcoming year is clear: “It is time to challenge ourselves and our community to drive real, impactful change.”
Coetzer has a message to anybody from the communities of Cradock who considers joining the Round Table organisation: “Charity begins at home. It is important to surround yourself with people who add value to your journey. Round Table is one of the best places to find diversity, fellowship and new skills - both professionally and personally”.
Over the weekend of 20 and 21 February, Round Table Cradock 37 joined Round Table Kirkwood 78 for the combined induction dinner for Round Table Kirkwood 78, Adelaide 194 and Cradock 37.
The prize-giving event also took place at this event, and he congratulates all those who received prizes for all the hard work they had put in over the past year.
