GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Saturday saw 66 people run, jog or walk the challenging Mountain Drive parkrun in Graaff-Reinet. Nine participants were first-timers, and 13 were able to break their personal records.
Luwatlin Diaatjies was first of the men, with 21:38; a new personal best for the athlete. First-timer Lee-Andrew Louw was second (21:57), and Simeon Goliath came third with 22:01.
First-timer Enya Kemp was the first woman to cross the finish line, with an excellent time of 24:36. Hildegard Wessels was second (32:51) and Magda Claassen third (35:34).
The event was made possible by volunteers Kim Spencer Primic, Lusan Luscombe, Rozelle Köhne, Peter Burdett, Danie Jackson, Shirley Spencer, Johan du Plessis, Wayne Gradwell, Marna Gerber and Raymond van Staden.
