KAROO NEWS - The two insurance murderers, Nomphelo Maloyi and Lwazi Kay, who were convicted of the premeditated murder of Maloyi's 66-year-old uncle, Mynhardt Maloyi in November 2022, have been sentenced to 26 years in prison.
The sentence was handed down in the Makhanda High Court on Thursday 26 September.
According to Luxolo Tyali, regional spokesperson of the Eastern Cape Prosecuting Authority, the prosecution is intending to appeal the sentences as they consider it to be 'inappropriately lenient'. Read more in this week's edition of Graaff-Reinet Advertiser.
