GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The Dr Beyers Naudé Local Municipality says it has applied for a court order to prevent Eskom from proceeding with bulk electricity interruptions to three Karoo towns on 23 October.

“We have been made aware of a notice by Eskom that they plan to proceed with bulk electricity interruptions in Willowmore, Steytlerville and Jansenville,” read a statement by the municipality.

According to the statement, the municipality will continue with consultation, and keep the public informed. “We will do everything within our power to prevent the outages,” they concluded.
