KAROO NEWS - After the problems with refuse collection last week in Graaff-Reinet and some other towns in the Dr Beyers Naudé Local Municipality, assurances were given by the municipality that many of the areas would be serviced last Friday.
Despite a claim by acting media liaison officer Edwardine Abader on Monday that refuse collection occurred as specified, at least some of the areas, this did not happen.
Some Adendorp households’ refuse was not collected, and in Khayelitsha and the horseshoe area of Graaff-Reinet, not all streets were serviced.
As far as can be ascertained at this stage, normal service has been resumed this week.
