GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — The ladies knitting group from the Brenda Horwitz Retirement Village recently handed over their knitted items to the beneficiaries, Vuyani Safe Haven and the Graaff-Reinet Protective Workplace.
Hildegarde Brummer and Riana van der Ahee were on hand to receive the knitted items on behalf of Vuyani Safe Haven which is home to 30 children and infants.
Sarie Whitlock also received knitted items on behalf of the Graaff-Reinet Protective Workplace which now boasts up to 25 members.
The ladies from the knitting group are incredibly grateful for the generous donations of yarn and beanies and scarves and cash donations from various individuals from around the country as well as from Jackie Bezuidenhout from the Loop Wool Boutique and again ask that anyone interested in donating to do so to enable the group to reach more people in need.
The ladies specifically request a donation of 4 ply yarn as they continue knitting for those in needs.
The ladies knitting group have so far donated 16 pairs of bed socks to Parsonage Frail Care, a knee blanket to a lady wheelchair bound, five beanies to a needy family, 25 knitted items to the Protective Workplace and 29 scarves to Vuyani Safe Haven.
