Suspect arrested for Mandrax in Cookhouse

The suspect was arrested and detained at the Somerset East police station on charges of dealing in drugs and possession of possible stolen property.

COOKHOUSE NEWS - Police arrested a 26-year old suspect and recovered some drugs at a house in Bongweni Location on Saturday 17 April.

According to local police spokesperson, Capt Bradley Rawlinson, an off-duty member of the Cookhouse route patrol received information of drugs at a house in the informal settlement.

Upon searching the premises, 50 Mandrax tablets, with an estimated street value of R4 000, were found.

The suspect was arrested and detained at the Somerset East police station on charges of dealing in drugs and possession of possible stolen property.

The suspect is due to appear in Somerset East Regional Court soon.
