Update
GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The annual St James Anglican Church bazaar was held last Friday, and as usual local residents and visitors filled the hall soon after the doors opened.
The tables were laden, and sales went well. The frozen farm mutton and venison sold out quickly and freshly-baked cakes and savouries were snapped up.
There were plenty of books for the avid readers at Moyra Marais’ stall, and this stall reported increased sales over last year.
Gerald and Liz Buisman once again ran the tea garden, with delicious floats as a new addition to their menu.
The pancake ladies were kept busy all morning, and the traditional puddings were as popular as ever.
The plant stall, appropriately set up in the garden, offered a selection of healthy thriving stock and was well supported.
A pig was also generously donated by a member of the congregation for a raffle, which will be drawn shortly.
There was a very happy atmosphere throughout the morning, with plenty of chatter and laughter. A delicious lunch was served at midday, which received plenty of compliments.
The organiser, Felicity Minnaar, thanked the members of the community who supported the bazaar, as well as the St James parishioners and conveners, who all worked very hard.
The church is grateful for all the donations that were received.
Val Loock, Ros Rubidge, Hilary Palme, Maryna Wallis, Wendy Venter, Lorraine West and Evette Holmes worked hard as the pancake team at the St James bazaar.
