KAROO NEWS - The power utility Eskom stated this morning that it would probably be implementing Stage 2 load shedding today, from 09:00 until 22:00 because it had “lost units” during the night.
Stage 2 allows for up to 2000 MW of the national load to be shed. It is twice as severe as stage 1.
If Stage 2 should be implemented, Graaff-Reinet will not be affected as the town was scheduled to be cut off from 05:00 to 07:30 this morning. Aberdeen might be off for a half an hour should load shedding be implemented from 09:00 onwards as the town was scheduled for between 07:00 and 09:30.
Nieu-Bethesda also won’t be affected as it is scheduled for between 23:00 and 01:30 tonight.
