GRAAFF-REINET NEWS AND VIDEO - The Eastern Cape National Education, Health and Allied Workers' Union (Nehawu) are visiting three institutions in Graaff-Reinet today (17 June), to see if they comply with safety regulations, as proclaimed by National Government in the fight against Covid-19.
At 10am today, they were at the East Cape Midlands College, to make sure that the college is ready and safe to open and welcome students. It is not known yet when the Graaff-Reinet campus of the college will open.
At midday, Nehawu visited Midland Hospital. A visit to the Department of Social Development is also scheduled for later this afternoon.
Sweetness Stokwe, regional secretary for Nehawu, said they also met with management of the institutions.
Stokwe said they will give feedback as soon as they finish their monitoring process.
