KAROO NEWS & VIDEO - A massive wind turbine blade on its way to Prieska is stuck in the rock face next to the R61 at the Aberdeen/Beaufort West crossing.
Apparently the back wheels of the massive heavy vehicle are controlled remotely as the driver of the vehicle needs assistance from back-up vehicles to manoeuvre its precious load around corners.
It seems the angle was misjudged causing the wheels to slide into the ditch next to the road.
One wind turbine consists of three blades which have to be transported one at a time. This turbine was the last of more than 100 blades transported to the Prieska wind farm.
