GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Lions Graaff-Reinet this week extended a word of thanks to the local Pick n Pay and shoppers who supported their recent food collection drive.
“Thank you so much to all those shoppers who generously donated food items in Pick ’n Pay from 13 to 15 July,” said local Lion Liz Buisman.
“Some gave 10 items and some one, but all the food goes to making a difference in a child’s life.”
A total of nine trolley loads, weighing 718kg, was collected and Graaff-Reinet Lions have already distributed some of it to the beneficiaries.
Lions also thank Cheryl Waddelow at Pick n Pay and her enthusiastic and helpful staff for working with them and making the project such a success.
Kamva Facility for Handicapped Children, Sonstraal Pre-School and Grace Warriors Childcare Centre have already received their first food parcels.
The rest of the food is being stored and will be given out at monthly intervals.
