ABERDEEN NEWS - One person died and seven were injured in an accident in the early hours of Friday morning on the R61.
The accident happened about 30kms from Aberdeen, when a Toyota Avanza taxi travelling from Cape Town to the former Transkei left the road.
No other vehicle was involved, and the vehicle overturned when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The passenger who died at the scene was a woman of about 40 years old, who was thought to be returning home for the Easter holiday.
The driver was seriously injured, and the other five passengers had varying degrees of injury. All the victims were taken to local hospitals.
