Update
GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Contingency measures at the Graaff-Reinet SAPS offices are in place.
Although the station on Middel Street has been closed after a member tested positive for Covid-19, SAPS service delivery is not compromised.
This according to Brigadier Vushni Naidoo, national police spokesperson, who this evening (15 May) confirmed the closure of the station.
The closure took place late last night after a senior officer tested positive for Covid-19.
Naidoo told the Advertiser that the SAPS moved to an adjacent building as part of a contingency plan.
Naidoo added that all known contacts of the member are being traced and placed under self-isolation. The screening and testing of all members is also underway and almost complete.
The former contact details are not working, but the station can be reached at the following numbers: 049 807 1180 or cellphone 082 779 7131.
