GRAAF-REINET NEWS - Excellent work by Graaff-Reinet Operational Command Centre members resulted in the arrest of five suspects who allegedly robbed a local businessman in Church Street in Graaff-Reinet on Monday 12 July.
It is alleged that the man arrived at the bank at about 12:50 when he was approached by five armed suspects who robbed him of a substantial amount of cash.
The police immediately followed up information that led them to a house in Seventh Lane, Graaff-Reinet, where they arrested the five suspects and recovered the cash.
The suspects are between the ages of 27 and 61 years.
The suspects are currently in police custody and will appear in the Graaff- Reinet Magistrates Court soon.
Graaff-Reinet Station Commander, Col Andre Arends, applauded the excellent efforts of the members who immediately responded to the information received. He said police members must be operationally ready to act to any situation that may arise.
