GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Don't miss the Karoo-lus Festival's last hurrah this weekend!
This popular festival, which has been held annually in Graaff-Reinet over the last eight years, is set to end as its organisers focus on new projects.
The Karoo-lus Festival has been an important annual fixture on the town's calendar since 2010 with top class entertainment provided on the festival's grounds and some of South Africa's best entertainers taking to the stage.
However, this year's festival - taking place this weekend, 28 and 29 September - will be the last.
In a statement released earlier this year by Montego Pet Nutrition's directors, the organisers announced that they, after much deliberation, had come to the decision of making this year's festival the final, but also most exciting and largest edition, ending the Karoo-lus Festival on the highest note possible.
Montego Pet Nutrition confirmed that they will continue to support the local community, charities, and schools through their various social responsibility projects. The sponsorship which Montego has contributed to Karoo-lus over the years will be utilised towards numerous exciting upliftment projects.
The Karoo-lus committee further commented that they are looking forward to ending the Karoo-lus story on a positive note this weekend.
"We have increased our last and final monetary sponsorship to ensure we end on a high note and to make it a memorable experience for all who attend," said Bronwen Jacobs, head of the Karoo-lus committee.
This year's festival stage line-up will see acts like Appel, Touch of Class, Dewald Wasserfall, Riana Nel, Snotkop, The Campbells, Fatman, local artist Nerika van der Merwe, Leah, Emo Adams and The Parlotones - Jo Black having to, unfortunately, cancel his appearance because of an emergency medical procedure.
