GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — Around 100 dogs spent the weekend jumping over candy cane-striped plastic hurdles and dashing through tunnels as their owners ran alongside, whistling, shouting and pointing where to go on the obstacle course.
The South East Coast Regional Trials dog agility competition was held at the Botanics Sports Grounds by the South African Dog Agility Association from Friday, 13 to Sunday, 15 July.

The event, which is proudly sponsored by Montego Pet Nutrition, saw an influx of dogs and their handlers visiting Graaff-Reinet for the weekend to show off their running, jumping, bounding and grace during this fun event.
Although competitors were faced with inclement weather conditions for agility on Friday and Saturday, Sundays' weather proved splendid and all enjoyed and made the most of the sunshine.
The organisers extend a word of thanks to the sponsors, Montego Pet Nutrition, and their hosts, the Botanics Sports Club, as well as to the helping hands, judges and competitors.
The weekend's winners were Roche Compaan and Sumo (Overall Grade 3 Mini Dog), Kirsten White and her pup Pixie (Overall Novice Games Dog), Nadine Shortland and Maverick (Overall Novice Dog), Gillian Blem and Zoe (Overall Grade 3 Toy Dog), Annaret Meintjes and Catchi (Overall Advance Games Dog and Overall Grade 3 Midi Dog) and Annaret Meintjes and Jet (Overall Grade 3 Maxi Dog).
