GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Dinilesizwe ‘Dini’ Sobukwe, the son of Graaff-Reinet-born political activist Robert Sobukwe, died in hospital in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday.
His passing was confirmed by Dr Motsoko Pheko of the Pan Africanist Congress, which was founded by Robert to oppose the South African apartheid system.
Dinilesizwe later established the Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Trust, in honour of his father.
“Deep condolences to the Sobukwe family,” Pheko wrote on Facebook. “May you find strength at this difficult time.”
To the late Dinilesizwe, he said “may you rest in eternal peace. Greet Prof Sobukwe and Mama Sobukwe.”
