GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Although the official starting time of the Aalwynhof bazaar last Saturday was 10am, the first wave of early-bird visitors arrived soon after 9am, eager to find bargains and the tastiest food.
Many orders for pancakes and braaivleis had been placed ahead of time, and the cooks were certainly kept busy. Outside, in the shade of the carports, stalls sold fresh farm produce, and a selection of bric-a-brac, as well as candles made by one of the residents.
In the lounge the café did a brisk trade, and the long table was laden with cakes and savouries. A selection of typical bazaar puddings was also available.
Chairperson of the Aalwynhof board, Diane Nel, would like to thank those who worked hard to make the day a success.
