GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Union High School's Grade 7 class recently initiated a visit to the local SPCA to walk the dogs and play with the cats.
They also collected and donated blankets, dog dishes and food.
They are planning to make toys for the animals and request that fellow Unionites donate old t-shirts, which will be used to make the toys.
Any old blankets, rugs, bathroom mats, dog leads, dog dishes and collars will also be most welcome.
The Grade 7s are already planning their next visit in mid-August.
This was a very fruitful visit as one of Union's learners was reunited with his dog - his beautiful sheepdog was stolen out of his yard during the school holidays by vagrant youths.
One gorgeous fluffy grey kitten found a new home and a possible adoption for a very lucky dog is on the cards.
The eager dogs were all taken for a walk during the Union Grade 7's visit.
