GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — Last Saturday, December 3, Samara Private Game Reserve welcomed the children and staff from Vuyani Safe Haven for their seventh annual Christmas party.
What a wonderful surprise when a whole group of giraffe greeted the group as they entered the reserve! The children had fun in the sun and went on a game drive, with the highlight of the day being the arrival of Father Christmas. Each child received a gift, as well as a new set of clothes, generously sponsored by well-wishers.
Samara's staff served a splendid lunch of chicken drumsticks with salads and rolls, followed by a treat of cake and ice cream.
After the meal, the children enjoyed splashing in the sparkling pool.
Many people helped to make this unforgettable day possible. Vuyani would like to thank Sarah Tompkins, owner of Samara, Margie Varney, the general manager, Alan Feldon and the whole Samara team “who served us as if we were VIPs!”
Several donations were received towards the presents and clothing, and the de Royere family of France made a generous cash donation towards the outing. Montego Pet Nutrition provided a 22-seater bus and a driver to assist with the transport of the Vuyani children and staff.
Father Christmas arrived with a safari vehicle and handed out presents to the Vuyani children!
