CRADOCK NEWS - Two young men were recently found guilty and sentenced to jail for robbing a spaza shop in Lingelihle in Cradock on 1 June.
According to Capt Lariane Jonker, spokesperson for the Cradock SAPS, the Cradock Regional Court sentenced Simpiwe Danster (25) to 15 years imprisonment on 23 July, while his co-accused Anathi Swartbooi (27) received 13 years the day before.
"During the robbery [in Nyanda Street] a 19-year-old was stabbed in the shoulder and robbed of an undisclosed amount of money," Jonker told the Advertiser.
The suspects were traced and arrested by Det Constable Siyabonga Ntsimango.
The Cradock Cluster Commander, Brig Madoda Zamkana. commended the member on the effective investigation.
