GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — The Camdeboo Hospice's Cabaret and Art Auction will be held at the Graaff Reinet Golf Club next Saturday, 25 August, starting at 18:30.
Entertainment will be provided by Kristen Steyn, who will be coming from Port Elizabeth to delight everyone with her beautiful voice. The event will be compered by well-known Hospice supporter Pierre Strydom, and the auction items will fall under the hammer of experienced auctioneer Gardner Niekerk.
The organisers see this as a wonderful opportunity for younger people who are setting up homes to come and buy paintings, the majority of which are by known artists in what can loosely be called The Karoo Group.
In addition, there will be a silent auction where people can place anonymous bids for various objet d'art. Assorted donations so far received include such diverse items as glassware, office equipment, and a lady's Burberry coat!
The cost of admission is R100, and guests are encouraged to bring along their own hamper of food. A cash bar will be available for drinks.
