CRADOCK NEWS - Two missing Cradock sisters were found by the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit.
Marius Olivier, the grandfather and legal guardian of the two sisters, reported them missing on Friday 13 December. Olivier reported that the two sisters made a scheduled visit to their parents, as set on a court order. They did not return and he reported them missing to the Cradock SAPS.
The detectives reacted on a tip-off from the public on Monday 16 December, and managed to arrest the parents at a shelter for homeless people outside Pretoria.
Police spokesperson, Captain Lariane Jonker, said the detectives managed to arrest the parents at the shelter. The minors, who were found with their parents, were kept safe at the South African Relief Project until they were handed over into the care of their legal guardian.
The parents, between the ages of 31 and 35, appeared before the Themba Magistrates Court on charges relating to kidnapping and contravention of a court order.
