ABERDEEN — Concerned by the progressive deterioration of the R339 in Klipplaat, local councillor Wilton le Grange decided to do something about it.
This is a provincial road, with a great deal of traffic, and the many potholes were causing such a hazard that it was felt that the road was unsafe.
Together with Cllr Wayne Seekoei and 15 DA activists, Cllr le Grange set to work recently and repaired one of the worst stretches of the road, between the Klipplaat police station and the garage.
“It had got to the stage where lives were in danger,” said Cllr le Grange. The group obviously could not repair all the areas with potholes, but local residents are very grateful for the initiative to at least make part of the road safer for motorists and cyclists.
