Van Druten began by expressing condolences to the family on the loss of their sister, daughter and friend. He then referenced his Christian beliefs and made a series of religious declarations, stating that he is the Archangel Michael and that Nicky van Heerden is Jesus Christ. He further claimed that he was announcing the coming of Jesus Christ and that the world would be saved by her.
