RUGBY NEWS - The Springboks beat Wales 73-0 in their final match of their northern hemisphere tour in Cardiff on Saturday to go unbeaten this month, winning all five matches.
The world champions were in a class of their own and dominated all departments and held the upper hand in the territory and possession stakes.
They led 28-0 at half-time and turned it on in the second half to register an emphatic victory.
The only down side was lock Eben Etzebeth getting a red card late in the game for an eye gouge on a Wales player during a scuffle.
The Boks scored 11 tries with Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu getting two, while he also kicked nine conversions.
The other tries were scored by Gerhard Steenekamp, Ethan Hooker, Jasper Wiese, Morne van den Berg, Wilco Louw, Canan Moodie, Andre Esterhuizen, Ruan Nortje and Etzebeth.
The Boks earlier beat Japan, France, Italy and Ireland.
Coach Rassie Erasmus had been forced to make several changes to his team after last week’s match, because the match falls outside the international Test window.
The world champions though displayed their strength and depth with an excellent outing, with the forwards dominant and the backs outstanding with ball in hand and in defence.
There were several standout players, among them Nortje, Feinberg-Mngomezulu, Esterhuizen, Hooker and Willemse.
