ABERDEEN NEWS - Three people have lost their lives while two sustained severe injuries after a single vehicle lost control and overturned on the R61 road about 30km from Aberdeen towards Beaufort West.
The incident occurred on 3 January at around 14:30 when the Hyundai Creta that the five male occupants travelled in, overturned.
According to Unathi Binqose, spokesperson for the Department of Transport in the Eastern Cape, the driver lost control of the vehicle as a result of speeding.
The two injured passengers of which one is the driver, both sustained severe injuries and were taken to the Graaff-Reinet Provincial Hospital for further medical examination.
A case of culpable homicide has been opened at the Aberdeen Police for further investigation.
