GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Repair work has started at the northern wellfield in Graaff-Reinet, where two boreholes were left out of commission last week due to vandalism.
“Boreholes are expected to be operational by Wednesday, which will increase water supply,” said Acting Spokesperson for the Dr Beyers Naudé Local Municipality, Edwardine Abader. Low water pressure has been reported across Graaff-Reinet.
“The municipality is aware of the areas experiencing water interruptions, due to demand exceeding supply,” Abader added. “Operational plans are being implemented, such as filling of water tanks, and carting of water.”
The municipality asked residents are requested to be patient. “All areas with shortages are receiving the necessary attention,” Abader concluded.
