GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Raped, tortured, viciously attacked and punched in the face, murdered and then dragged out of her home and dumped in her garden.
This is what Julia Lukas (63) of Santaville is believed to have endured during her last moments on earth.
Her sister's child, Morné Williams (34), stands accused of breaking into her house on either late 2 November or in the early hours of 3 November and committing these heinous crimes. Lukas had helped raise Wiliams since he was a boy.
The Advertiser has evidence that Williams admitted guilt to a police officer, and his admission will be used against him in court.
On Monday 4 November Williams appeared briefly in court on charges of housebreaking with the intention to murder, rape and murder. The case was postponed to Monday 11 November for further investigation. Williams remains in custody.
Lukas's body was found covered by a blanket by the police outside her house just after 5.30am on Monday 28 October. She was naked, and the back door was broken open. Bloodstains were found in the kitchen. Graaff-Reinet SAPS spokesperson, Captain Bradley Rawlinson, said the police followed up information and arrested Williams at a nearby house in Santaville.
The Advertiser visited the scene, where a family member of Williams, Georgery Lukas, pointed out that Williams lived right across the street from his alleged victim.
An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday 5 November.
