GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - In just three days, Graaff-Reinet has recorded a further two Covid-19 related deaths.
The latest figures released by the Sarah Baartman District Municipality, giving the case breakdown as at 4 July, shows the number of Covid-19 cases in the Dr Beyers Naude Local Municipality has risen by 15 to 126.
Graaff-Reinet has recorded 13 more cases of the virus, and both Aberdeen and Jansenville have reported one extra case.
Graaff-Reinet has 57% of the cases recorded in the local municipality, showing an increase of 22% in the three-day period from 1 July to 4 July.
Overall, the Sarah Baartman District Municipality has recorded 1523 positive cases, of which over 75% have occurred since 1 June.
The total number of cases in each town is as follows:
•Graaff- Reinet - 72 confirmed cases, 24 recoveries, 6 deaths.
• Aberdeen - 16 confirmed cases, 14 recoveries.
• Jansenville - 4 confirmed case, 1 recovery.
• Steytlerville - 1 confirmed case, 1 recovery.
• Rietbron, 1 confirmed case, 1 recovery.
• Klipplaat, 2 confirmed cases, 2 recoveries.
• Willowmore, 29 confirmed cases, 25 recoveries.
Mayor Deon de Vos once again conveyed condolences to the family and friends of those who have passed away, and wished all those infected a speedy recovery.
